Purchasing Engineer
Thai Honda Co., Ltd.- Responsible for end-to-end purchasing activities for new model projects, starting from project kick-off through to mass production (MP), ensuring on-time sourcing readiness.
- Lead sourcing activities with a focus on achieving target cost and continuous cost improvement.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure project milestones, quality, and timelines are met according to new model schedules.
- Perform logical cost analysis and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing.
- Develop and maintain accurate cost per unit data for assigned parts.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including internal purchasing, R&D, and external suppliers, to support project objectives.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive Engineering preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Sourcing, or Supplier Management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry
- Solid knowledge of purchasing processes, VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering), and teardown cost analysis
- Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
- Good command of English (both written and verbal); TOEIC score 550 or above required
- In-depth knowledge of production processes such as Rubber Molding, Die Casting, Machining, and Material Science (Chemical & Physical Properties)
- Understanding of supplier financial risk using DBD (Department of Business Development) data
- Strong grasp of the 3GEN principle (Genba, Genbutsu, Genjitsu) and application in supplier evaluation and problem solving
- Strategic thinking in part development and sourcing, with proven negotiation and cost reduction skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (Engineering, R&D, Quality, etc.) in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with ISO/TS16949 or IATF16949 standards is an advantage
- Experience in handling new model launch or localization projects is a plus
