Power Plant Manager – Wind farm (Nakhon Si Thammarat)

Job Summary : The Power Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of a wind energy facility. This role ensures that the wind farm operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all environmental and regulatory standards. The manager leads a team of technicians and engineers, manages contractors, and coordinates with stakeholders to maximize power output and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee the daily operations of the wind farm to ensure optimal performance and energy production.
• Lead, supervise, and support plant staff, including engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
• Develop and implement operational procedures and maintenance schedules.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols and environmental compliance standards.
• Monitor plant performance and take corrective action as needed to improve output and efficiency.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Manage contracts and coordinate with OEMs contractor for specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Manage contracts and coordinate with EGAT and ERC.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and manage budgets, procurement, and inventory for tools, spare parts, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
• Prepare operational reports and performance metrics for senior management.
• Support community relations and serve as a point of contact for local authorities or stakeholders.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 10–15 years in power plant operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Skills :

• Strong knowledge of power generation systems (thermal, solar or renewable).
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience with SCADA systems, CMMS software, and remote monitoring platforms.
• Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management abilities.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with grid integration, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.

Work Environment :

• Combination of office and field work at wind farm sites.
• On-call duties required for emergency or unplanned outages.
• Travel may be required for meetings, inspections, or training.
